On September 3rd, thanks to The Gordon we got together for Building Careers Geelong program.
We hosted site tours with year 9 & 10 students at our Iona College Geelong project with Site Supervisor Wayde Webb & Contract Manager David Bauzon providing an impressive insight to site operations.
Managing Director, Steve Lyons and Operations Manager, Gary Iacono also came along to add some helpful tips.
The tours wouldn’t happen without the passion from Lyons Chairman, Norm Lyons who is proud to share his knowledge in commercial construction with up and coming students. Inspiring students to take up a pre apprenticeship and to get their foot in the door, Norm spoke further to students at The Gordon to cement their knowledge about the opportunities the industry holds now and for many years to come. The students were also able to watch some great content from Master Builders Association of Victoria which included insights as to how various industry members started off their careers.
Special mentions to our sub-contractors McFarlane Bricklaying for providing the students with an insight into the bricklaying business and giving them an interactive experience.
