Expertly designed by Perkins Architects, the Drysdale Child & Family Centre (Bella Wiyn Birralee Family Centre) is an integrated early childhood centre that Lyons Construction built for the City of Greater Geelong.
The facility is home to a wide range of services, including a versatile community area used for classes and meetings, maternal health services, counselling offices, reception, toy library, daycare, kindergarten, and full commercial kitchen. The two storey centre, which was completed in March 202 achieved a 5 star Green Star – Design & As Built v1.2 rating after one submission.
In October 2021, the centre was granted a 5-star rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, which denotes Australian Excellence in sustainability practises in the design and construction phases. This is Lyons Construction’s second Greenstar rated building, behind the Highton Child and Family Centre, which received a 6-star rating in 2019.

A Green Star building not only reduces the impact of climate change, it also enhances our health and quality of life and contributes to building a sustainable economy.
