We are delighted to welcome Vaz Juchima to our Board of Directors as an Advisory Board Member.
Vaz has a huge amount of experience across:
- Engineering
- Safety Protocols
- Leadership
He’s been a member of many boards including Gforce Employment Solutions, Give Where You Live and Gordon McKay.
Vaz’s Career Beginnings
Starting his career as an accountant, Vaz quickly progressed through his career to become the Head Office Accountant at Hendersons until he took up a position at Danum Engineering.
Danum Engineering specialised in:
- Steel fabrication
- Plant installation
- Plant maintenance
- Shutdowns
- Project management
- Hiring of labour
From here, Vaz’s upward mobility was swift – he was promoted from the role of Finance Manager and Company Secretary to Managing Director within three years of being with Danum. He also purchased equity in the company.
Vaz held this position for 30 years and his key focus areas included:
- Providing leadership
- Ensuring that strategic, operational and financial objectives were delivered
- Accountability for the performance of the organisation
- Creating growth within the business
During this period, Vaz’s key outputs included implementing a fully integrated management system covering all areas of the business – with a particular emphasis on ensuring safety and quality.
Throughout his career, Vaz’s leadership skills have seen him develop and manage teams of up to 500 employees.
