The refurbishment of the existing library over three levels at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds Campus, showcases a new direction for contemporary learning.
The building comprises a series of spaces including group and individual study spaces, a moot court, an IT training space, and a 24-hour access computer room.
Use of raw and recycled materials combined with atypical design features such as neon lighting, contrasting dark and light spaces, coloured glass, and a book feature wall made from 30,000 disused books recycled from the library’s own collection.
