Located in Charlemont, Iona College is a new co-educational Catholic school pivotal in providing a high quality educational facility in a new growth area within the Geelong region. In 2021, Lyons Construction first broke ground with the construction of Stage 2B – an expansive Games Hall. Completed within a nine month time frame, this allowed students access to the facilities by the start of a new term. This was closely followed by a two-storey Specialist Learning Building, completed by the start of the 2022 school year.
The expansive and multi-purpose Games Hall is home to a gymnasium, three outdoor basketball courts, music room and state-of-the-art food tech facility with both indoor and outdoor dining spaces. The gymnasium features a Tasmanian Oak sprung hardwood floor, suspended basketball system, tiered seating, LED scoreboard and acoustic plywood lining throughout. The commercial grade food technology learning space and servery features stainless steel finishes, cool room and walk-in-pantry and dining area that expands to an outdoor setting. The music room boasts three sound-proof recording studios and an open-space learning area.
