Turning of the Sod – Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club

By | Community, News, Projects

Over the long weekend, we celebrated the Turning of the Sod for our project, the new clubhouse for Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club.

The Turning of the Sod ceremony was a huge milestone for the club and its volunteers, who have been working hard for years to get this project off the ground.

With many notable attendees, including The Hon. Lisa Neville, Veryan Curnow (Associate Director at Jackson Clements Burrows), Charlie Pitney (President of Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club) and Chris Harper (Building Committee Member of Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club) the ceremony certainly helped to drum up anticipation and excitement for the new building.

One of the best things about working in construction is getting to see the impact your buildings have on the communities who use them.

Working in commercial construction, this phenomenon is all the more rewarding. And ceremonies like these help us to see the true community impact this project will have on the area.

Getting to see first-hand the excitement surrounding what will not only be a structurally-stunning building but a building that promotes safety around the water, healthy lifestyles and getting out into nature, makes us proud to be a part of this project.

We are super excited to get this project underway Рthink some of the subbies are even more excited about the prospect of post-work surfs!
