2019 Deakin University Geelong Business Excellence Awards Launched

On Wednesday 27 February, the 2019 Deakin University Geelong Business Excellence Awards (GBEA) were launched. Established in 1986 and managed by The Geelong Chamber of Commerce, the Geelong Business Excellence Awards recognises organisations that have achieved business excellence in the Geelong region.

As a previous winner of the GBEA Overall Award, Lyons Construction knows first hand the value of gaining recognition and celebrating your businesses’ achievements and performance. In 2019, Lyons Construction continues its long association with the GBEA by sponsoring the Medium to Large Organisation Award.

The theme for the 2019 awards is “Celebrating the Journey.” Lyons Construction’s journey commenced in 1929. Growing from humble beginnings, when Eric J Lyons alongside his brother Allan started the business, Lyons Construction is now Geelong’s largest and oldest commercial construction company.

Specialising in medium to large commercial construction and with a wealth of experience in education, health, community, aged care, retail, hospitality and industrial, Lyons Construction is proud of the reputation it has achieved. We also recognise that it is the team behind Lyons Construction that is responsible for our success.

This year, Lyons Construction celebrates its 90th Anniversary and reflects on its journey since 1929 and the positive impact the company has had to date in Geelong and regions. We also look to the future so that the company may continue to thrive. Later in the year we will celebrate our journey.

Lyons Construction encourages all businesses whether large of small to enter the Geelong Business Excellence Awards and looks forward to celebrating the journey with all entrants at the award ceremony later in the year.
