Proudly Celebrating 90 Years

By | News

During 2019 Lyons Construction proudly celebrates its 90th anniversary.

Founded in 1929, by Eric. J. Lyons and his brother Allan, Lyons Construction has grown from strength to strength. We are immensely proud to be Geelong’s oldest and largest, family owned, commercial construction company.

Our heritage is built on the foundations of hard work, strong values and a desire to contribute in a positive way to our community. Specialising in medium to large construction and with extensive experience in education, health, community, aged care, retail, hospitality and industrial, Lyons Construction prides itself on constructing buildings of excellence.

Our achievements have been recognised by our peers in the industry through numerous Master Builders of Victoria “Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings” Awards and in 2018 Lyons Construction was crowned MBAV 2018 Commercial Builder of the Year (South West Region).

Naturally none of what Lyons Construction has achieved could have been achieved without the Lyons Construction team and the support of local subcontractors and suppliers. Strong relationships with all involved in a project are vital so that we may continue to construct buildings of excellence and thrive for the next 90 years.

Lyons Construction building a vibrant, strong, and successful community since 1929.

Premier Dan Andrews with Lyons Construction staff; Dan Evans (Site Manager), Steve Lyons (Commercial Manager), and Gary Iacono (Managing Director).

The state of the art bespoke building not only provides vital child and family services at the one location, it does so in a beautiful space; and who wouldn’t love the playground with all of it’s fun gadgets and learning opportunities.

Through passive design the Highton Child and Family Centre’s will achieve a 6 star Green Star rating further demonstrating the City of Greater Geelong’s commitment to future generations.

Naturally, constructing a building of such high quality and finish relies on the knowledge and skills of a wide range of tradespeople and suppliers so a big thank and congratulations to all involved.
